R454c is a low GWP, HFO-based (hydrofluoroolefin) refrigerant with the optimum balance of properties to replace R404a ,R407C and R22 refrigerants in medium- and low-temperature direct expansion applications. It offers the performance close to the refrigerants it is designed to replace which makes R454c easy and cost-effective to apply to new equipment with minor modifications.
With a GWP of 146, R454c falls under the 150-threshold value in the F-Gas regulation 517/2014 and Ecodesign requirements, thus being particularly suited for commercial and industrial refrigeration systems
APPLICATIONS:
- Low- and medium temperature commercial and industrial refrigeration systems formerly designed for R404a, R407C or R22
- Condensing units, cold stores, walk-in coolers and freezers
- Ideally suitable for hermetically-sealed refrigeration systems
- Easily convertible from R404a, R407C and R22 design with minimal changes
PERFORMANCE RELATIVE TO R404A:
- 10% less capacity
- 7.5% higher COP (coefficient of performance)
- 25% reduction in mass flow
- Lower compressor suction and discharge pressures
ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS:
- <150 GWP (96 % reduction versus R404a)
- Meets F-Gas and Ecodesign GWP requirements
- Zero ozone depletion
- Non-toxic and mildly flammable
